DJ Worx 'Ride'
Purchased in 1984 to haul equipment to gigs it was retired in 1994 with new engine / trans. and put into storage until 2006.
Below are the photo's of how it looks today and back in service.
Modifications:
Front grill was completely reworked for a vintage 60's look.
Bolt holes on front and rear bumpers were filled. Rear bumper is narrowed 7".
Side marker lights are removed and square gas door is replaced with Billet style door.
Stock square tail lights are removed and 59' Cad. tail lights are 'Frenched' in. Back up lights are relocated under bumper.
All door handles are removed and electric solenoids w/ remote are installed.
The ugly oversize side mirrors were replaced with smaller auto style mirrors and LED turn signal are installed in side mirrors.
Wheels are chromed Chevy Rally and stock center caps.
Total project time: 250 hours.
As an 'old hot rod buff ' we never lose the the root's of American Graffiti, it's in the blood just as being a DJ is. I did this van because it was something different for cruise night. Pulling this 'ride' into the gas station always garners a comment from both young and old. What better way to haul your equipment to your gig can anyone ask for? And yes, I did all of the work myself.
